Responding to the need of Member States of the Western Indian Ocean and its Small Island Developing States to build capacity to undertake coastal hazard assessments within an overall risk assessment, management and mitigation framework, IOC of UNESCO in association with its Indian Ocean Tsunami Information Centre (IOTIC) is organizing a training workshop entitled: “Coastal Hazard Assessment: Applications in Risk Assessment, Management and Mitigation for Western Indian Ocean Countries” to be held in Victoria, Seychelles, 7-11 March 2016 and hosted by the Division of Risk and Disaster Management of the Seychelles National Disaster Risk Management Office.
