Brief Information of the eyewitness and the interview situation

My grandmother named Dhanna Bibi used to tell stories of such storm which she experience twice. One she remembered happened in 1921 or 1922 whereas second in 1945. She lived at Shahbander near Ketibnader which is disappeared as compared to what it was in at that time. Those cities were very much populated and fertile for agricultural products like wheat and rice cultivation. However, there was no communication link among areas like today. Sea was much behind the present day shoreline. We settled here in 1965.

Interview result (text of the interview: Purely descriptive)

One day she was playing near her house when she was surprised to see that sea water encroaching her village (although as told earlier, sea was much away). The water brought debris like wood, clothes, households and toys, she wanted to catch dolls but her father and took her away on a boat along with other family members. Later the waves also brought dead bodies. Women were wearing heavy ornaments which they recognized as Hindu because of their dress and heavy gold jewelry. The second storm was in 1945. My father also remembered that event. He told there were deaths but much lesser than what happened in 1921 or 1922. It happened during day time.
