Brief Information of the eyewitness and the interview situation

I was old enough as working in 1945, may be 12-15 years old I guess, living in the same area. Old name of this village was “Bhullay Gee”. There were only 30 families living at that time. It was established in 1935 but I used to live here even earlier. Today 5 to 6 thousand people are living in this village. I got married before Pakistan established in 1947, however don’t remember whether in 1945 or later. The event happened in British Period before 1947. I never experience such a storm in my life again.

Before Fajr prayer (before dawn) we felt an earthquake and fire coming out of mountains near “Hingol” (place between Ormara and Lasbella) and then waves attacked. There were three waves. Water receded and came forward again and again. When one receded the other came after that. The coming waves were so high we could not see stars in the sky and created huge sound. In the morning we saw boats brought inland by sea water which was much behind the present day shoreline (may be 3-4 kilometers). We used to dry fish at that place where now sea has encroached. Water even came 100 m inland from preset day shore. I can show you the place and marks of tsunami.
