Brief Information of the eyewitness and the interview situation

Was married and had two children at that time. I used to take care of cattle, doing house hold work like grinding wheat and making food for the family.

Interview result (text of the interview: Purely descriptive)

We did not use to have boats as our village was far away from sea at that time which now has come very close (kilometers). We made some arrangements using wooden logs (from debri of the roof) and used “Charpoi” (indigenous wooden bed) to be able to float and ran away from inundated area. The water was red in color and brought lot of fish and debris inland. It marked around 1 m depth of flooding. Some people there was an earthquake before sea waves came but I did not feel any ground shaking. However, there was a roaring sound before water hit the area. We came back to our village after three days when water receded and my family stayed at Allah Bachaya’s home which was built at a higher place in nearby village. We lost cattle and belongings which were washed away by waves but no person died and all in our village survived.
