Brief Information of the eyewitness and the interview situation

He was studying in class 6th and 12 year old. At that time there was only one school in Pasni, most of the teachers were from Makran region and two were from Punjab Province. His house was near new Jetty area in Wadsar area; Wad means Salt and Sar means mine therefore the word Wadsar means “salt mine” because salt was produced from sea water at that time. In 1986 the Jetty was constructed at this place by reclaiming land.

Sea dried and went back approximately 1 kilometer behind the shore and when returned brought many big boats and rubble several kilometers inland. Mostly houses were made of matting and wood and only few mud houses were in Pasni People were woke up by the strong earthquake shaking and after one hour they heard people shouting about water from sea approaching the town. Most of the people evacuated on sand dunes and those who could not escape in time were drowned by the waves. Around 25-30 people died by the earthquake and tsunami.
