The tsunami happened at night time when (people) sleeping in my house that was made of mud and raw wood. The waves caused huge damage like loss of crops, cattle, boats, houses and belonging, all washed away. My mother shared all these details with me. Whenever, there used to be any threat or warning of a storm or bad weather, she used to recall this event. She died 20 years ago. In the morning, the people came to know the extent of damage caused by this tsunami. The destruction was much greater in nearby areas than what happened here in the Kharochhan city.
