Brief Information of the eyewitness and the interview situation

In British period this event happened. I became blind in 1947. I was captain of the ship at that time around 25 years old.

Interview result (text of the interview: Purely descriptive)

The event happened around 80 years ago when sea water came at mid night or later when people were sleeping. There was an earthquake before the waves arrived. Those waves passed over the houses. In the morning we found our boats destroyed and lying inland. Ketibander was not much destroyed but the villages near the shoreline were washed away. There were no winds or rain only sea waves created havoc. This kind of sea storm only happened once in my life. I remember at that times there were 10 main creeks namely “Dabbu, Patyani, Chahh, Hajamano, Turshamano, Garu and Sanghri all destroyed, Whereas Vari, Basta and Ghaja were not much affected. Boats were destroyed, cattle and houses washed but human loss were much greater than that.
