I was sleeping when a person Khaleefa Ashraf shouted that sea had receded and would come back. He warned us to evacuate. I saw fire coming out of Malan Mountain. Sequence of those events was earthquake happened; fire came out of mountain and finally tsunami generated. Sea went behind the shoreline. Before first wave arrived I could reached my grandmother’s house which came after 30 minutes of the earthquake. First wave flooded area with knee deep water but the third wave swept away my mother, Aunt (Zarro) and a cousin (Magunj. My mother survived but other two were drowned and total number of casualties could be estimated around 20 or 30. Sea water inundated certain parts of the city not the whole area was under water.
