In 2004 when tsunami hit Indonesia we observed some impacts here. Water receded even much farther than the low tide around 4:30 p.m (it was already low tide on Dec 24th 2004). Then waves receded and came forward 10-12 times in the way. Boats came forward and gone back with the waves in a strange way. I had never experienced such strange behavior of the sea in my life but have heard the story of 1945 tsunami from father therefore I could easily correlate this phenomenon as tsunami. Firstly wave came forward and then receded. It was Sunday and as this is a famous picnic place since British Period, many tourists had gathered and were surprised to notice the waves.
